The Future of Fancy Product Designer: Your Path to Chamevo
That “something bigger” is Chamevo — a full SaaS platform designed to handle the demands of modern e-commerce personalization. And starting in 2026, Chamevo becomes the only path forward.

That “something bigger” is Chamevo — a full SaaS platform designed to handle the demands of modern e-commerce personalization. And starting in 2026, Chamevo becomes the only path forward.
Here’s what that transition looks like, what you’ll gain from it, and how to make the move before the clock runs out.
Fancy Product Designer Upgrade: The FPD Sunset Timeline – Three Dates That Matter
We’re phasing out FPD’s legacy infrastructure over the first half of 2026. Mark these on your calendar:
March 1, 2026 — Support Extension Sales End
After this date, you won’t be able to purchase new support extensions for FPD. Existing support contracts will run until expiration, but no renewals will be available.
June 1, 2026 — Genius Services Go Offline
This is the bigger shift. Genius services — including the export service and all AI-powered features — will be permanently turned off. If your store relies on AI image generation, background removal, or automated exports, those workflows will stop functioning on this date. This is a perfect example of the risks associated with SaaS lock-in, where users can lose control over their software and data when the provider changes the rules or discontinues services.
July 1, 2026 — Migration Discounts Expire
We’ve created a discount program to ease the transition to Chamevo. But it won’t last forever. After July 1, migration deals are no longer available.

Why We Built Chamevo
FPD started as a WordPress plugin — a way to let customers design personalized products directly in the browser before checkout. Add text, upload images, preview the result. The plugin could be easily installed by store owners to quickly enable product customization. Simple concept, real results: higher average order values and fewer returns since customers see exactly what they’re buying.
But as stores scaled from 50 orders a month to 500, the plugin architecture started showing strain. Manual work was required for order management and workflows became fragmented. Limited AI capabilities bolted on as afterthoughts.
Chamevo was our answer: a platform rebuilt from the ground up as a modern SaaS product. Think of it as “Canva meets Shopify” — the same customization power, but with the infrastructure to support subscription billing, consumption-based AI credits, and integrations with both WooCommerce and Shopify stores globally.
This isn’t abandoning FPD users. It’s giving you a better version of what FPD was always meant to become.
What’s New in Chamevo — And What’s Coming in 2026
Migration isn’t just about preserving your current setup. It’s about gaining access to features that weren’t possible in the plugin architecture. Chamevo is an app designed to enhance your online store’s functionality and streamline data management.
Chamevo is compatible with major e-commerce platforms and plugins, ensuring seamless integration and multilingual support for international users. It can also connect with other tools, such as Gravity Forms, to streamline your workflows and link product customization with form submissions.
The new admin dashboard allows you to view and manage detailed order and product information. The redesigned dashboard is organized into dedicated pages for product setup, order management, and design editing, making it easy to access and customize every aspect of your store. From a single interface, you can easily view all relevant data and order details, improving efficiency and oversight.
A Redesigned Admin Dashboard
The new admin interface was rebuilt in React 18 with a focus on speed and clarity. Product setup, order management, and design template editing now happen in a single, unified workspace. The new dashboard allows users to view comprehensive order details, making it easier to track and manage every aspect of each transaction. The admin dashboard is organized into dedicated pages for different management tasks, streamlining navigation and reducing confusion.
Users can easily view and manage all relevant data from a single interface, eliminating the need to click between multiple screens. Less clicking between screens. Less time wasted hunting for settings buried in submenus.
For operators handling 100+ orders per day — one of the key triggers we see for migration — these workflow improvements compound quickly.
Improved AI Image Generation with Remove Background
Chamevo’s AI features run on a credit-based system that scales with your usage:
Text-to-Image (2 credits): Generate custom graphics from prompts — useful for customers who want unique designs but don’t have the skills to create them.
Background Removal (5 credits): Instant cleanup for uploaded images.
Image Upscale (2 credits): Enhance low-resolution uploads so they print cleanly.
Please note: In the demo environment, certain buttons or options related to these AI features may be disabled to prevent unauthorized use or to illustrate limited access.
These aren’t new features conceptually — you’ve seen versions of them in FPD’s Genius services. But the underlying models have improved, and the credit system means you’re only paying for what you actually use.
Coming Soon: A Modern Product Designer Frontend Customizer UI
Later in 2026, we’re releasing a completely refreshed customer-facing design tool. The frontend customizer — the interface your shoppers interact with — is getting a visual and usability overhaul. The new UI will be compatible with major translation plugins, supporting multilingual stores and ensuring seamless integration for international users.
We’re not ready to share screenshots yet, but the goal is straightforward: make the customization experience feel as polished as the rest of your store. Faster load times. Cleaner controls. A design language that doesn’t scream “2018 plugin.”

The FPD-to-Chamevo transition has a clear deadline: July 1, 2026. After that, migration discounts disappear, and you’ll be paying full price for the same platform.
If you’re running a store that depends on product customization — whether that’s print-on-demand apparel, personalized gifts, or bespoke accessories — the math is simple. Migrate now, lock in better pricing, and get access to features that weren’t possible in the plugin era.
